Alon Leibovich is Intel Ignite Tel-Aviv’s Managing Director, where he takes a hands-on approach to working with the deep tech founders in the Israel program. He is dedicated to helping startups achieve their potential, guiding them through all the aspects of company building, from cracking product-market-fit to helping founders maintain healthy relationships and mental wellbeing.
Alon’s experience as a founder has led him to his passion for founder mental health, something that he has drawn on to transform Intel Ignite Tel-Aviv since joining in September 2022. As MD, Alon extended the program content, and introduced new and vital themes like mental health and resilience for founders and their spouses. This sets Intel Ignite apart from other accelerators in the Israeli ecosystem, and marks it as a leader in developing both the human and technical aspects of entrepreneurship in deep tech. His impact has spread beyond the program itself, in the many presentations he has given at other accelerators in Israel.
Another successful initiative that Alon spearheaded is the Bootcamp: a compressed version of the program focusing on different segments or populations within the Israeli ecosystem. In particular, he recognized that the Orthodox community needed support integrating into the mainstream. Through the Dos Ventures bootcamp, Intel Ignite worked with six startups with founders from the Orthodox community – an achievement that earned an audience with Israel’s President Isaac Herzog. Two of these startups made it through to Intel Ignite Tel-Aviv’s selection day, a testament to the success of the Bootcamp in bringing these communities into the fold of Israeli high tech.
After October 7th, Alon saw an opportunity to use Intel Ignite’s resources to support communities in the Gaza Envelope. Participating Agro-Tech startups were required to commit to conducting their PoC at Kibbutz Holit. This initiative resulted in another visit with President Herzog, and has turned Holit into a beta site, giving hope to the communities who live there.
As a founder himself, Alon understands that to reach that coveted product-market-fit, startups need customer connections. To facilitate these, Alon built Intel Ignite’s Customer Advisory Board (CAB), with Motti Finkelstein, Intel’s Global CIO, as its chairman. As a result of their efforts, the Customer Advisory Board includes CISOs, CTOs and CISOs from leading Fortune 500 companies. In the short time since it was founded, the CAB has generated connections and business for Intel Ignite’s portfolio companies amounting to over a million dollars.
Intel Ignite participants have benefited from Alon’s experiences founding a successful startup – and all the challenges that come along with that. His expertise in organizational psychology has also equipped him to address the human factor in deep tech entrepreneurship, putting a spotlight on challenges that often get overlooked.
He has shared his insights on various platforms including The Human Founder and IsraelTech, helping audiences to understand the complexities of building thriving deep tech companies.
